• sysfs (udevinfo). Om man har en 2.6.x.x. kärna, med udev aktiverat (/etc/rc.d/rc.udev).

sysfs monteras på /sys. Innehåller information, om ansluten hårdvara. Som kärnan har stöd för. udevinfo

proc innehåller även den hårdvaruinformation.

sysfs och proc, är "virtuella" filsystem.
